skybridge Capital to Launch Bitcoin-Based Index Fund

Investment company skybridge Capital has filed an application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to register a bitcoin fund under the name “skybridge Bitcoin Fund L. P.”.

skybridge Capital was founded in 2005 by former press secretary of Donald Trump, as well as former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci. Scaramucci is a fan of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. He also sees the potential of blockchain and believes that the technology will be widely used in the field of finance.

skybridge has about $9.3 billion under management. In November, the company filed an application with the SEC to get the agency’s approval to invest in digital assets, and on December 21, skybridge filed a Regulation D form to create a bitcoin fund. The value of the fund’s assets was not disclosed, but the minimum investment amount is $50,000.

skybridge has registered the fund under Rule 506 (c), which allows the sale of digital assets only to verified accredited investors. According to US law, accredited investors are those whose annual income for the previous two years is more than $200,000, or investors who have the necessary license.

Recall that last month, the company Mike Novogratz (Mike Novogratz) Galaxy Digital also announced its intention to launch a fund in Canada for bitcoin-CI Galaxy Bitcoin Fund. In addition, in August, the American company Fidelity Investments filed an application with the Commission to register an index fund based on bitcoin.
