The government of China’s Shuangjiang province has published approval for a blockchain platform for tracking tea supply chains developed by VeChain.
VeChain has partnered with leading tea producers in the region and implemented its supply chain tracking platform, which allows you to track the full path of tea from raw materials to consumers. Customers will be able to scan the QR code on the packaging, or use NFC technology to verify the authenticity of the product.
Developed by VeChain, the blockchain platform for tracking PU-erh tea was one of the first under the National system for tracking strategic products program launched by the Chinese government.
“We attach great importance to this platform, which tracks every package of tea, its origin and logistics, and which will increase the reputation and popularity of Yunnan tea around the world,” said Lu Xiutian, a representative of the Ministry of Commerce.
Recall that in April, VeChain registered in China in accordance with the country’s new rules on blockchain regulation. In addition, it was recently reported that China will use the VeChain platform to track imports of products from France.
