Chinese Internet giant Baidu has announced a test launch of the Open Network service based on the Xuperchain blockchain for simple development of decentralized applications.
Developers can use tools to quickly create and host their apps. At the same time, as part of the pilot testing of the project, the fee for placing a decentralized application will be only 1 yuan ($0.14).
Developers will also have access to various smart contract templates and other tools that increase the speed of creating a decentralized application. At the same time, Open Network fully meets the requirements of Chinese regulators.
The Xuperchain project was launched in may 2018, and the developers immediately provided the source code of the blockchain. At the moment, the project has more than 3.5 million users and has processed more than 450 million transactions.
In January 2018, Baidu launched a blockchain platform based on the BaaS concept for creating decentralized applications. However, the platform required companies to launch their own blockchains.
A year later, the Chinese Internet giant launched the Baidu Blockchain Engine service, which is an operating system that allows developers to create blockchain applications “similar to mobile ones”.
