According to the Block analyst Larry Cermak, in December 2019, the volume of trading on non-custodial exchanges reached the lowest level in the last 9 months.
According to the data provided in the report, in December 2019, the volume of trading on non-custodial exchanges was only $180 million. This is the lowest value since March last year. Note that in July 2019, the volume of trading on such exchanges reached $561 million.
“Interestingly, despite the overall decline, the ratio of trading volume on non-custodial and centralized exchanges has increased. The lack of liquidity, the relative complexity of trading on decentralized exchanges, as well as some limitations of the blockchain technology itself, affect the decline in trading volume on non – custodial platforms,” said chermak.
Recall that in November last year, Larry Cermak conducted a study of 37 cryptocurrency exchanges, according to the results of which, since may 2019, traffic on trading platforms has been constantly decreasing.
