The analytical service Whale Alert reported that another 789,534 ETH, equivalent to $188 million, was sent from the wallet of the plustoken pyramid organizers. They haven’t moved since December last year.
According to Etherscan, the ethers were sent to an unknown address. It is noteworthy that the transaction was completed a few days after the founders of PlusToken transferred more than 26 million EOS, equivalent to $67.1 million.
PlusToken has become one of the largest fraudulent projects using crypto assets. The PlusToken cryptocurrency wallet was launched in 2018 and lasted 14 months. Investors were promised monthly payments from 6% to 19% of the invested amount and other bonuses for attracting participants. User losses amount to about $3 billion, but the real damage can be much greater. Chinese police have arrested six people suspected of organizing the scheme.
In March, Plustoken creators moved 13,000 BTC to mixers, which put additional pressure on the bitcoin exchange rate. According to a study by OXT Research, most of the bitcoins from the PlusToken pyramid were withdrawn through the OKEx and Huobi cryptocurrency exchanges, which require customer verification in order to strictly comply with KYC and AML procedures.
