Bitmain partially compensates for the difference in price to customers who ordered ASIC-miners of the new generation AntMiner S17+ and T17+ before the recent price reduction.
On Tuesday, Bitmain reported that buyers of AntMiner S17+ and T17+ with delivery dates from mid-February to the end of April will receive coupons for between $17 and $272 dollars per device.
For example, for buyers who received pre-ordered AntMiner S17+ at the end of March, Bitmain will compensate $240 per device. Those who received or will receive AntMiner S17+ during April will be issued $270 coupons. Coupons are not cashed out and can only be used for purchases in Bitmain.
Bitmain usually sells its newest miners on pre-orders, with customers paying the full retail price upfront including delivery, which usually occurs in two or three months. Thus, those who received delivery of the AntMiner S17+ in early April paid significantly more than the current price of the device.
All producers of miners lowered prices after the collapse of the markets on March 12, as well as in connection with the upcoming halving
rewards for BTC miners. For example, at the beginning of this month, Bitmain sold AntMiner S17+ for $1,567, although some intermediaries at the time already indicated a price of about $1,300. Bitmain has now adjusted the price on its website to $1,320, reducing it by more than 15%.
