Jakarta police have arrested the founder of the BitClub pyramid

Indonesian police have arrested the co-founder of the BitClub cryptocurrency pyramid, Russ albert Medlin. However, the reason for the arrest is not related to the pyramid – he was accused of being involved with minors.

Local newspaper Jakarta Globe reported that the arrest of Russ albert Medlin (Russ Albert Medlin) took place on Monday. According to the head of the Jakarta police, Yusri Yunus, law enforcement agencies received “warnings from the public that they often saw underage girls” in his house.

Police set up surveillance of Medlin’s home and saw three teenagers leave it.

“Officers intercepted and questioned three underage girls, aged 15 to 17 years. They admitted that the owner of the house paid them for sex with him, ” the police said.

Note that under the law on child protection, adopted in Indonesia in 2014, for sexual contact with minors can face up to 15 years in prison. In the US, Medlin has already been accused of sexual harassment against a 14-year-old girl.

According to the head of the special investigations Department of the Jakarta police, Roma Hutajulu, the FBI has already sent a request for the extradition of Medlin to the United States in connection with the BitClub pyramid case. However, while the accused is awaiting extradition, the Indonesian police will continue to investigate the case of seduction of minors.

Recall that in December 2019, the United States arrested three citizens of the country on charges of organizing a fraudulent pyramid BitClub.
